My story and lived experience
Discover Tash's personal journey, how her experiences have shaped her passion for mental health, and the unique perspective she brings to peer support.

About Tash: a journey of passion and recovery
Tash is passionate about mental health, psychology, neurodiversity and peer support, with a strong desire to continue her education toward becoming a social worker while working as a Mental Health Peer Support Worker. Her interest in mental health is deeply informed by her lived experience and personal recovery journey, which began more than 20 years ago when she first sought support. Through her own experiences, as well as her broader understanding of mental health, Tash has developed a strong appreciation for the importance of choice, autonomy, recovery and person-centred support.

Understanding diverse mental health journeys
Tash has experience and a strong understanding of a range of mental health and life experiences, including domestic and family violence, PTSD, anxiety, depression and mental health more broadly. These experiences have strengthened her passion for supporting others and her belief that people should be treated with respect, dignity and without judgement.

Creativity: a unique approach
Creativity is also a major part of who Tash is. She has a particular love for art, sketching and creative expression, and all artwork featured throughout this website is Tash's own original artwork. She enjoys using creativity as a way of expressing ideas, emotions and individuality. Outside of her professional interests, Tash enjoys cooking, and animals. She has a basic Auslan skills, which she hopes to refresh so she can potentially use them to benefit the wider community.
